Razer Deathadder V2 Review

The Razer Deathadder is a classic and much loved mouse with over 10 million copy's sold it's safe to say it's been well received with fans since it first released in 2005 but a mouse that old just cant compete with todays gaming mice. So enter the Razer Deathadder V2 the new and reimagined Deathadder but does it hold up to the reputation of its forefather? We'll be answering that very question today.

The Deathadder V2 features a Razer Focus+ 20K Optical Sensor, Razer Speedflex Cable for minimal drag and smooth control, Razer Chroma RGB lighting with true 16.8 million customizable colour options and Large 100% PTFE mouse feet (0.8mm thick).

The shape of the V2 is very similar to the original with only minor changes and since its shape and ergonomics are what the Deathadder is most known for this is great news. Coming in at 82 grams this mouse feels quite light while remaining smooth making it suitable for both high and low sense gamers. We also get to enjoy the Razer logo and scroll wheel in subtle and clean rgb that is fully compatible Razer synapse. The side buttons on the V2 are big and very easy to press which is great news to gamers you use them frequently, there also fairly clicky and satisfying to use. It also features a quality mouse wheel, two buttons on top for controlling dpi and one button on the bottom which is used to switch between profiles.

While there's no standout problems with this mouse we do have a couple knit picks we feel we should share. First problem is the fact this mouse doesn't have a wireless option which may put some gamers off but luckily the speedflex cable makes this barely noticeable so unless your only used to wireless mouse's this shouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately this mouse isn't ambidextrous making it which mean left handed gamers wont be able to use this mouse comfortably but on the upside it's gonna make this mouse even more ergonomically pleasing for right handed players.

Overall we think this mouse lives up to the standards of its forefather and has lots of major improvements at around $69.99 you couldn't ask for much more in a gaming mouse and we would highly recommend it for fps and MMO players alike. Also it's available with a Destiny 2 design (see image above) and a cool overwatch design. Thanks for reading and we'll be sure to see you in our next review.
